The Silver Revolution

The Fashion-First Movement Redefining Modern Beauty

Raquel is a multilingual Spanish model, actress and comedienne, who won the Golden Rose on Le Golden Bachelor, the French version of The Golden Bachelor, which aired on M6, the largest private national TV station in France. She has homes in Barcelona and Paris, travels extensively, modeling, acting, and spreading The Silver Revolution message.

The Power of Polished Silver

On a recent trip to Paris, I was fortunate enough to not only catch up with Raquel for a chat, but to also do an incredible photoshoot with her and the beautiful, bubbly Sylvie, one of the foremost ambassadors of The Silver Revolution.

Let Raquel, in her own words, describe how The Silver Revolution came about, what it means, what the future holds.

For quite some time, I had already been sharing this message with women: dare to be yourself, at any age, with no filters or limits. Through Instagram, I have been encouraging women to embrace their individuality, their style, and their inner power; proving that authenticity never goes out of style.

Then came The Golden Bachelor: Winning that experience gave me a larger platform, but it also opened my eyes to how deeply ageism still exists, both in fashion and across social media.

That realization became a turning point; instead of letting it define me, I chose to turn it into light, and The Silver Revolution was born.

As the momentum gathered and more people became aware of Raquel and her mission, her message of hope and empowerment, the next logical step was a book, then a video, even more ways to inform the world. Raquel continues…

Two years ago, I met my now my wonderful friend Maël, who loved my ideas. She said she would one day love to make a book with me, so together, we co-wrote Silver Revolution by Raquel.

The book is a fun and glamorous manifesto, designed to demystify the passing of time and to celebrate confidence and individuality at any age.

Later, I collaborated with renowned music and video producer, DJ NaoMix on the Silver Revolution music video—an artistic expression of strength, sensuality, and rebellion against stereotypes. I have also been very fortunate to share my message through TV interviews and podcasts, speaking about how visibility, humor and self-love can change and redefine the perception of age.

I always want to lead by example and be the inspiration for women worldwide: as a runway model, I have walked in Paris Fashion week, London Fashion Week,  and in Stockholm and Barcelona: each time, I feel more convinced that this is what the world needs to see; women who are free, bold and proud of their age.

Beauty is not about perfection, it’s about freedom, attitude and truth. There is no limit, there is no age barrier.

I was really beginning to understand Raquel’s motivation, drive, energy, insatiable desire and determination to spread her message, to see women of all ages empowered, but especially for more mature women to fully embrace the beauty that comes with age and experience, the softness and understanding, yet the strength and belief that anything is possible, that they deserve to be seen, to take their rightful place in all walks of life, as humans to be looked up to, respected, revered, to be seen as the paragons they are.
Where does The Silver Revolution stand now and what of the future? Raquel explained it this way…

Today, The Silver Revolution has grown beyond social media: it has become a mindset and a platform for creative collaborations and future events.

For me, The Silver Revolution is more than a project, it is an attitude, a lifestyle, a declaration of self-love and empowerment.

It is about celebrating silver as a statement; strong, radiant, and unapologetically alive! We have the age of all possibilities, all dreams and now I am living my own dreams.

My hair started to go white at 16 years of age and I colored for decades, but the day I started to let my natural color through, I felt the deepest feeling of freedom. Now my hair is my Crown of Glory.

Coming in 2026 will be a The Silver Revolution website, the book will be made available on Amazon.com, more events are planned and a concerted effort will be made to reach out to women of all ages, nationalities and walks of life to hear the message of The Silver Revolution, to embrace the ideals and philosophies and to in turn spread the word themselves.

Fearless at Every Age

Of course, the idea of female empowerment is not a new one, but Raquel brings a signature blend of glamour, fun and sass, she brings an energy that is unmatched, this is a lifestyle, she lives it herself, every day, a true inspiration to women everywhere, a real example of what The Silver Revolution embodies, what its core values are.

There is a message of hope, of encouragement, that any woman, any age, can do anything she wants, to love, to find love, to live life fully, to have dreams and live them.

Silver, Seen & Unstoppable

Many, many older women, especially in Europe are becoming models, signing with agencies and doing photoshoots and I knew that I wanted to make the most of my time with Raquel and Sylvie in Paris and to do my own photoshoot with them–we were in one of the most wonderful areas of Paris, Le Marais, which has been home to some of the greats of photography and art, including one of my particular favorites, Helmut Newton–more about that soon.

We had a gorgeous Parisian Fall day to do the shoot and we packed in three incredible looks using the streets of Le Marais as our backdrop, trying and hopefully succeeding, in showing through photos, the very message of The Silver Revolution, the courage, the attitude, the glamour, the fun, the desire to show the world just how beautiful more mature women are.

Previously, I mentioned Helmut Newton. I had seen a very famous nighttime Vogue shoot that he had photographed in 1975.  I had looked for and found the exact spot that shoot was done–right in front of his home at 2.45 am and I was determined to do a shoot there, especially as it was only a short walk from where I was staying.

Raquel had to leave to travel back to her home on the outskirts of Paris, as she had left her delightful chihuahua Lullaby behind, so I asked Sylvie if she was happy to do the shoot and when she agreed, we set off to make some epic photos, following in the footsteps, fifty years later, one of my heroes of the art, Sylvie showing exactly what it means to be a part of The Silver Revolution!

Raquel and the Silver Revolution aren’t going away, they are becoming stronger by the day, more widely known, the message reaching more and more eyes and ears, empowering women globally, with a vital message they all need to see.
